QA Lead
Bangalore, Karnataka, India
Full Time
Experienced
Position Summary
"We will chase perfection, and we will chase it relentlessly, knowing all the while we can never attain it. But along the way, we shall catch excellence.” — Vince Lombardi
MyAdvice’s QA Lead owns team throughput and review quality across all Signature website builds and launches. This is a people leadership role: your primary accountability is how your team performs, not how many sites you personally review. You assign work, coach QA Specialists, run structured 1:1s, and own the quality standard that determines whether a site is ready for clients. You will adopt and model AI-powered tools within the QA workflow to increase speed, accuracy, and consistency across the team. The ideal candidate has led a QA team in a web or CMS environment, communicates directly with both technical and non-technical partners, takes ownership of team outcomes rather than waiting for direction, and looks for patterns in defect data, not just individual bugs to fix.
Essential Duties
Team Leadership and Coaching
Assign QA tasks across the team based on workload, deadlines, and skill level. Own the team’s throughput.
Run weekly or biweekly 1:1s with every direct report. Provide structured performance feedback and developmental coaching.
Facilitate QA team standups with a clear format: done, doing, blocked. Standups are 15 minutes, not open-ended discussion.
Onboard and train new QA team members on testing standards, tools, and workflows.
Monitor team capacity and adjust schedules to meet project deadlines without burning the team out.
Quality Governance
Review and approve QA outputs from QA Specialists before launch or handoff. You are the quality gate.
Conduct spot checks and calibration reviews to ensure all specialists are reviewing to the same standard.
Own and maintain QA checklists and SOPs. Keep testing standards current as the product, design guidelines, and accessibility expectations evolve.
Handle escalated or complex QA issues that require deeper analysis. Resolve what you can; escalate cross-team architectural decisions to your manager.
Launch and Post-Launch Quality
Sign off on the final pre-launch QA checklist before DNS switch.
Validate critical site flows and edge cases post-launch.
Ensure 301 redirects, PageSpeed targets, and Core Web Vitals meet requirements through team execution, not personal review of every site.
Monitor post-launch regressions in the first 7-14 days. Coordinate rapid resolution with Developers and PCAs.
AI Integration and Tool Adoption
Evaluate and adopt AI-assisted QA tools (visual regression testing, automated accessibility checks, performance analysis) within the team’s workflow.
Model AI tool usage for the team. Set the standard for how AI outputs are interpreted, verified, and incorporated into QA reviews.
On a quarterly basis, surface one QA workflow where AI could reduce review cycle time or improve defect catch rate. Bring a proposal, not just an observation.
You are responsible for the accuracy of every QA output, regardless of whether it was produced manually or with AI assistance.
Cross-Functional Coordination
Serve as the primary QA point of contact for PCAs, Developers, and the Launch team.
Triage and prioritize bugs by severity and project deadline. Communicate triage decisions clearly.
Coordinate regression and retesting cycles with Developers.
Contribute QA insights (defect trends, recurring issues, quality patterns) to cross-team process improvement discussions.
Required Skills
Strong understanding of QA methodologies, responsive testing, and CMS/WordPress workflows.
Experience leading or mentoring a QA team: assigning work, giving feedback, running 1:1s.
Clear written and verbal communication with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Ability to analyze defect patterns across projects and translate them into process improvements.
Comfort with cross-browser and cross-device testing tools (BrowserStack or equivalent).
Familiarity with performance validation tools (PageSpeed Insights, Core Web Vitals).
Preferred Skills
Experience with AI-assisted testing tools (visual regression, automated accessibility checks).
Familiarity with SiteFlow or similar workflow management platforms.
Understanding of web accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1).
Experience with defect tracking and documentation in project management tools.
Prior experience coaching team members through structured feedback, not just reviewing their work.
Qualifications
4+ years in web QA, including at least 1-2 years in a lead, senior, or supervisory QA capacity.
Demonstrated experience owning team output quality, not just individual review performance.
High-speed internet connection to support remote work and video calls during business hours.
