Search Manager – Technical SEO

The Search Manager – Technical SEO is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing MyAdvice’s India-based technical SEO team. This person ensures all client websites are technically sound, SEO-optimized, and aligned with MyAdvice’s new AI-driven Search Optimization model.
Acting as both a technical mentor and executional overseer, this manager will guide a team of 6–7 SEO Technical Analysts who are responsible for both identifying and correcting technical issues within WordPress. The ideal candidate is highly experienced in technical SEO, fluent in WordPress, and thrives on driving execution quality, coaching talent, and bridging communication between delivery and product stakeholders.
This individual must also be confident participating in live video calls with internal stakeholders and clients when needed—providing expert insight, answering questions about technical strategy, and explaining SEO performance.
Core Responsibilities
Technical Oversight & Execution Leadership
- Own accountability for the quality, speed, and accuracy of all technical SEO work delivered by the India-based team.
- Provide expert-level troubleshooting and implementation guidance on WordPress-related fixes (meta data, schema, CWV improvements, plugin use, etc.).
- Direct team members on issue resolution in WordPress themes (Astra, Guttenberg, Beaver Builder) to avoid escalation to other departments.
Team Management & Workflow
- Manage, coach, and scale a team of 6–7 SEO Technical Analysts—conducting 1:1s, performance reviews, and skills development planning.
- Oversee weekly workload distribution across multiple client accounts; track against performance benchmarks and deadlines.
- Set up and continuously refine internal SOPs, QA checklists, and team documentation to enforce implementation quality and consistency.
Strategic Collaboration & Expert Consultation
- Join internal team calls and client-facing video calls as the subject matter expert (SME) for technical SEO when needed.
- Clearly explain the rationale behind technical strategies, reported performance metrics, or implementation timelines to non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with the U.S.-based Content Manager, Product, Engineering, and Support teams to ensure delivery alignment.
Reporting & KPIs
- Monitor key SEO implementation indicators including:
- Error resolution rate
- Core Web Vitals health
- Structured data completeness
- Technical response time
- Meta tag and schema compliance
- Error resolution rate
- Provide weekly reporting to leadership on team output, quality, blockers, and key trends.
Required Skills & Experience
- 6+ years in technical SEO, with 2+ years leading teams
- Advanced knowledge of:
- WordPress site development & administration
- HTML, CSS, and common SEO implementation standards
- Core Web Vitals and performance optimization (FCP, LCP, CLS)
- Technical SEO principles: redirects, canonicals, structured data, crawlability, robots.txt, sitemaps
- WordPress site development & administration
- Proven hands-on use of:
- Google Search Console (GSC)
- Google Analytics 4 (GA4)
- Google Tag Manager
- Lumar, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, SEMRush
- PageSpeed Insights / Lighthouse
- Google Search Console (GSC)
- Confident and professional on live video calls, with experience explaining SEO issues or strategy to internal teams and clients
- Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal)
Preferred Qualifications
- GA4 and GSC certifications
- Experience supporting health, wellness, or local service provider verticals
- Familiarity with AI-optimized search behaviors (AEO, GE visibility)
- Experience in SaaS or agency environments
